One of the most common questions we hear is “What’s Next?” Everyone is excited to keep the momentum moving forward and affect real change in our state and nation. We have several events coming up and many ways you can get involved. This can not be done without each and every one of you and we need many organizers and people to help out. Please read below and see how best you can get involved.

Committee Members

We are in need of more people to join the following Committees:

• Communications (Correspondence) – send out alerts, notices, process general email inquiries, Facebook, Twitter, coordinate input to Website Committee
• Website – maintain Rochester Tea Party Patriots website
• Public Relations / Media – Responsible for press releases to TV, radio and newspapers. Work with Event / Rally Coordinator to ensure spokesperson provided at each event
• Membership – maintain membership information; welcome new members, encourage them to join committees work with other committees to conduct membership drive(s)
• Legislative Watchdog – research and maintain information for local, state and federal elected officials for purposes of tracking voting records / positions.
• Education / Programs – develop; coordinate special educational programs as well as programs for regular membership meetings. Special education programs could include book clubs, small group discussions etc.
• Fundraising – Raise funds from individuals and businesses to finance activities of the Rochester Tea Party Patriots
• Liaisons – Establish committee of liaisons into other organizations such as National and State Tea Party Patriots, American Liberty Alliance, FairTax.org, Republican Women, surrounding communities, Small Business Owners, Clubs (Eagles, Elks, VFW etc), Vets, Senior Citizens etc.
• Event/Rally Coordinator – Rotating position. Serve as the primary focal point for a particular event / rally / town halls. Work with the Board, other standing committees as well as ad hoc committee to meet the goals of the planned event

Technology Training Classes

Consider teaching a technology training class in your area. Introduce fellow patriots to Twitter, Facebook, RSS feeds and how to navigate the web for the best information available to help us in our tea party efforts. Constitutional Classes

Are you a lawyer or professor or just someone who has a lot of knowledge about the constitution and our laws? Consider organizing and teaching a community class about the constitution, to help members in your community better understand their rights and the law of our land. Education is a key component to this movement, the more people become informed the more they understand what is slowly being taken from them. Study Groups for Local, State and National Policy Classes

Do you love to surf the net? Are you one of those people who read everything you can get your hands on. Consider sharing that information with others. Be party of a group who follows, learns, and informs the rest of your fellow patriot about local, state or national issues of interest. This can be done by submission to the web page, putting together handouts for events or holding small group education and discussion groups. Host a Tea Party in Your Home

Do you feel passionate about the core values of the tea party: Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government and Free Markets? Did you attend a tea party rally? Consider hosting a small tea party in your own home. With summer coming this is the perfect time to invite a few friends over for some grilling and time together. Why not also introduce them to the tea party or gather together and share the constitution. Just invite a few friends and have them invite a few friends and share what you know.
